Ever wished you could just watch someone do it — and ask them anything?

Sand casting isn’t difficult because it’s complicated—it’s difficult because there are hundreds of little decisions that no one explains.

Questions like:

  • Which tools do I actually need?

  • When do I use a standard flask instead of a core flask?

  • How many vents should I add?

  • What makes a good mould before you pour?

  • Can I cast settings?

  • Why did my last cast fail?

  • How to avoid getting porosity!

These are the things that are hard to learn from YouTube or books. They only really make sense when you watch someone who’s been doing it for years explain why they make each decision.

I’ve been sand casting for years and have made thousands of pieces. Along the way I’ve learnt countless tips, tricks and techniques that have completely changed the way I cast. In this live masterclass, I’ll be sharing everything I wish I’d known when I first started—including the little things that make the biggest difference to your results.

This is your chance to watch me cast live, ask questions, and learn directly from my studio.

Why Learn With Me?

When I first started sand casting, there was very little information available. There weren’t online courses, step-by-step tutorials, or communities to ask for help. Most of what I know came through years of trial and error, experimenting, making mistakes, and figuring out what actually works.

That’s exactly why I created my online sand casting course and this masterclass.

My goal is to save you years of frustration by sharing the techniques, shortcuts, and small details that took me countless hours at the bench to learn. I’ll show you not just how to sand cast, but why I make certain decisions so you can avoid common mistakes and get better results faster.

Whether you’re completely new to sand casting or looking to improve your skills, you’ll leave with practical knowledge you can apply straight away.

Live or Recording

Can’t make the live session?

No problem.

Every ticket includes the full recording, which will be emailed within 48 hours and available for 30 days after.

However, attending live gives you the opportunity to submit questions beforehand, ask follow-up questions during the workshop, and interact with me throughout the session.

Submit Your Question

Have something specific you’d like me to demonstrate or explain?

Submit your question when you register. I’ll choose 5–10 questions to answer live during the workshop, and where possible I’ll demonstrate the answer rather than simply explaining it.

Question submissions close 3 days before the workshop so I have time to prepare.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time zone is the workshop?

The workshop runs from 8:00 am–11:00 am AEST (Townsville, Australia).

This time works reasonably well for Australia, New Zealand and North America. If you’re elsewhere in the world or can’t attend live, don’t worry—the recording is included with every ticket.

Do I need any equipment?

No.

This is a watch-and-learn workshop. You’re welcome to follow along from your own bench if you’d like, but no equipment is required.

Will my question be answered?

I’ll do my best to answer as many questions as possible. I’ll be selecting 5–10 submitted questions before the workshop, then we’ll finish with a live Q&A where I’ll answer as many additional questions as time allows.

Zoom link will be emailed out 1 day prior on the 31st July
